How it works

Share it once.
Get it done later.

You've saved the video. You never did the job. HouseHack closes that gap.

01

Share it

Tap Share in TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, Pinterest or your browser, then pick HouseHack. Or paste a link. Screenshots, photos and your own words work too.
02

Get the real steps

HouseHack lays out the steps the source actually gives, as a clean numbered guide. Nothing is added. If it can't find usable steps, it says so.
03

Get a reminder

Choose how often the job comes round. When it's due, a reminder brings back the guide you saved. Mark it done and the next one moves on from today.
Faithful steps

From any source.
Nothing added.

A video, a Pinterest pin, a web page, a screenshot of someone's tip, a photo of a manual page, or something you write yourself. HouseHack reads what's there and turns it into steps.

  • Videos: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X, from the caption or what's said in the video
  • Pins and pages: Pinterest pins and any web page you share
  • Photos and your own words: up to 5 screenshots or photos, or a hack you write line by line
  • No steps to find? It says "No steps found" instead of guessing

Every guide says where it came from, and that HouseHack hasn't verified it.

Reminders

Back when it's
due again.

Each hack can have its own schedule. When it comes round, HouseHack sends a reminder that opens the guide you saved, so you don't have to hunt for the video again.

  • Home shows what's due this week, what's overdue and what's coming
  • Mark done and the next date moves on from today. Tapped too soon? Undo
  • History keeps every job you've marked done
  • Quiet hours you set in Settings keep reminders from arriving at a bad time

Reminders say how long it's been, never what might go wrong.

Discover

Care guides from the
people who made it.

Nothing saved yet? Discover has 70 starter guides, summarized from manufacturers' and official care pages, from Samsung, Whirlpool and Bosch to Rheem, Trane and university extension services. Add one and it's yours, with a reminder.

  • For my home: guides for the appliances you told us you have, with your brand first
  • This season: guides that fit the time of year, like gutters in autumn. Hidden when nothing fits
  • Every guide names its source and links to the original page. HouseHack isn't affiliated with the makers
  • Safety first: electrical, gas, structural and chemical jobs carry a warning and can't be set as reminders

Questions

Straight answers

Which apps can I save from?

TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X and Pinterest. Tap Share in the app and pick HouseHack, or paste the link. Any web page works too, and so do screenshots, a photo you take of a manual page, and a hack you write yourself.

Facebook videos need someone speaking in them. A video with no caption and no speech has nothing for HouseHack to read.

Does it make up steps?

No. HouseHack writes down the steps the video, page or photo actually gives, and nothing else. When it can't find usable steps it says "No steps found" instead of guessing.

Every guide says where it came from and that HouseHack hasn't verified it.

What about dangerous jobs?

Hacks that involve electrical, gas, structural or chemical work are flagged with a warning screen before you see the steps, and they can't be set as reminders. HouseHack doesn't verify any steps, so follow your appliance's manual and safety labels, and hire a licensed professional for electrical, gas or structural work.

How do reminders work?

You choose how often a job comes round. When it's due, HouseHack sends a notification that opens the guide you saved. You can set quiet hours in Settings. Mark a job done and the next reminder moves on from today.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time. HouseHack is billed by Apple, so you cancel in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the period ends. There's no free trial. On a new phone, use Restore Purchases in the app. Refunds are handled by Apple.

What do you do with my data?

We collect what the app needs to work, show no ads, don't track you across other apps or websites, and never sell your data. Photos you add are deleted from our servers as soon as your guide is ready. If something goes wrong on our side, we keep them so you can try again, and delete them within 8 days at most. You can delete your account and its data in Settings.

The details are in the Privacy Policy.

Do I need an account?

Yes. You sign in with Apple or with your email before saving a hack. There's one account per email, and you're signed in on one iPhone at a time: signing in on a new phone signs the old one out.

Is there an iPad or Android version?

HouseHack is built for iPhone only. An Android version is coming but we don't have a date yet. We'll say here when that changes.
