These terms apply when you use the HouseHack app. By creating an account you agree to them, including the disclaimer and liability waiver below. If you don't agree, please don't use HouseHack.
What HouseHack does
HouseHack turns home-maintenance videos, pins, web pages and photos that you share into written step-by-step guides, and reminds you when a job is due again. The steps come from the source you shared, or from manufacturers' published care guides for the hacks we include.
Disclaimer and liability waiver
Steps come from the source. HouseHack does not verify them. Hire a licensed professional for any electrical, gas or structural work.
- HouseHack's guides are summaries — of manufacturers' published care pages, or of videos and pages that people share into the app. HouseHack doesn't verify them, and isn't affiliated with any manufacturer or creator.
- You do the work at your own risk. Follow your appliance's manual, its safety labels and your local codes. If a step doesn't match your model, stop.
- Hire a licensed professional for any electrical, gas or structural work.
- Reminders are suggestions. They don't guarantee that a job is due, or that it's safe to do.
To the fullest extent the law allows, HouseHack is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any damage, injury or loss that results from following, or not following, a guide or reminder.
Subscriptions
- HouseHack requires a subscription, offered as auto-renewing weekly and yearly plans. The price and billing period are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the same price unless we tell you otherwise.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Deleting the app or your HouseHack account does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
- Purchases are also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.
Your account and content
- Only share links, photos and notes you have the right to share. You keep any rights you have in your notes and photos; you give us permission to process them to provide the app.
- Videos, pins and pages belong to their creators and publishers. HouseHack shows a link back to the source and the credit we have.
- Don't misuse HouseHack: no attempts to break, overload or get around its security, and no use that breaks the law.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Changes and ending
We may update the app and these terms. If we make a significant change to the terms, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app. Continuing to use HouseHack after a change means you accept it.
